We learned early in our schooling that plants help to clean the air we breathe. What many people don’t think about is the air we breathe in our homes and offices contain toxins. A common health problem from poor indoor air quality is asthma. One way we can improve the quality of air in our homes and offices is through houseplants.
The plants take in the carbon dioxide and act as a filter, if you will, and the plant output, oxygen, we use to breathe. This cycle of air input and output makes for healthier homes and offices. My favorite plant is the spider plant. It is easy to grow and when it has offshoots, replant the offshoot and you have a gift for a friend.
